PSL 7: The Karachi Kings Officially Named Babar Azam As New Captain
The Pakistani Super League (PSL) franchise Karachi Kings have officially announced that star hitter Babar Azam will be their new captain for the seventh edition of the tournament (PSL 7). Babar replaces all-rounder Imad Wasim, who had led the team for the past four seasons.
Babar has been the star of the Karachi Kings for a number of years and is one of the most consistent players in the league. He is currently the top goalscorer in PSL history and has been excellent for the franchise since moving from Islamabad United five seasons ago.

The 27-year-old was Karachi’s star actor on PSL 5 when the franchise won its first PSL title. He was voted Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performance.
The extravagant hitter already leads the national team in all three formats and was the driving force behind the rise of the national team. He recently led the men in green to the semi-finals of the 2021 T20 World Cup, his first appearance since the 2012 edition.
