Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Archewell Foundation is Facing Questions
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell Foundation has released its first official report on the US Covid vaccination campaign.
The report said that “12.66 million Covid vaccines have been purchased for the world’s population” through its partnership with the anti-poverty campaigning organization Global Citizen.
Global Citizen co-founder Michael Sheldrick responded by saying: “We are grateful to be working with the Archewell Foundation of the Sussexes to advance vaccine equity at a time when vaccine nationalism was prevalent.”
The report doesn’t provide details on the foundation’s account, but Harry and Meghan’s friend and royal biographer Omid Scobie said they raised more than £10 million (US$13 million) over the course of their first year of operation, with more than £2 million (US$3 -dollars) raised millions) in grants to be distributed in areas such as immunization equity and refugee resettlement.
People are wondering how the remaining cash, believed to be worth $10m (£8m) will be spent.
Online critics of the Sussexes questioned what happened to the remaining money or when it would be distributed, with one Twitter user, Adelen, asking: “Only $3 million? What about the balance?”
Another user, Grammaton Cleric, wrote: “$13 million raised. 3 million dollars distributed.”
Supporters of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s foundation praised their work with Twitter user sussexsquad1988, tweeting: “Thank you for all you have done.”
