Prince Harry and Meghan Markle criticized Queen Elizabeth’s reaction to the interview with Oprah Winfrey.
In that interview they detailed their exposure to the racist behavior of the royal family.
The couple said they weren’t surprised the Queen didn’t take full responsibility for the ordeal they went through, in a joint bio of the updated version of her Finding Freedom bio.
The book states that the monarch’s “memories may vary” comment on Harry and Meghan’s claims about the racism Markle was exposed to as royalty “did not go unnoticed”.

The book quotes a source close to the couple who said they were “not surprised” that full ownership was not taken.
“Months later and little responsibility was taken,” said a source close to Markle. “How can you go on without him?”
“It took the palace 36 hours to intervene,” write writers Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand in Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, “when Queen Elizabeth issued a statement saying they were” saddened by the challenges to learn who they are facing. Harry and Meghan had clashed but added that “some memories may vary”.
“Buckingham Palace,” they note, “had no further comment on the updated book.”
Meghan and Harry have made a number of allegations against the royal family, including a member’s concern about Archie’s skin color.
