Prince Andrew Calls On US Court To Dismiss “Unfounded” Case
Britain’s Prince Andrew insisted his sexual assault accuser wanted an “unfounded lawsuit” against him when he asked a New York court on Friday to drop the case.
During a presentation in Manhattan, attorneys for the Duke of York accused Virginia Giuffre of suing the prince “for another salary” overcharges against late financier Jeffrey Epstein.
“Most people could only dream of getting the sums of money Giuffre has secured over the years,” lawyer Andrew Brettler wrote.
“This is a compelling reason for Giuffre to continue to pursue frivolous lawsuits against people like Prince Andrew, whose tarnished reputation is only the latest collateral damage to the Epstein scandal,” he added.
The 38-year-old sued Andrew for unspecified damages in August, alleging he sexually assaulted her over 20 years ago, when she was 17 and a minor under American law.
Andrew, 61, has not been charged and has repeatedly and vigorously denied the charges.

Queen Elizabeth II’s second son last month accepted legal documents served in the case and was tasked with responding to the trial by 29th October.
His lawyers did so on Friday and decided to dismiss the lawsuit “for not having filed an appeal.”
Alternatively, they asked Giuffre to “make a more definitive statement on his allegations.”
