PM Shehbaz Delays Visit To UAE To Focus On Flood Relief Activities
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday announced the delay of his planned trip to the United Arab Emirates to lead relief efforts for Pakistani flood victims.
The Prime Minister made the announcement on his official Twitter account, saying: “I was due to travel to the United Arab Emirates on September 3 at the invitation of His Highness the President. We mutually agreed to postpone the visit so I can focus on the ongoing rescue and relief efforts.”
He also thanked the Arab country for sending the first tranche of relief supplies worth 50 million USD to the flood victims.
“We will be forever indebted to our brothers and sisters who have supported us in this challenge,” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wrote.

He said UAE President Mohamed Bin Zayed had assured him he would continue to help flood victims.
Pakistan declared a national emergency and called on the international community to help after monsoon rains and flash floods hit more than 33 million people in recent weeks and killed 1,193 since mid-June.
