PM Laptop Scheme
The PM Laptop Scheme 2024 registration is now open, following the announcement by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. The initiative aims to provide free laptops to college students, with an emphasis on proper distribution among both male and female students.
The relaunched scheme will kick off its online registration on August 10th, benefiting students in Matric, Intermediate, FA, FSC, ICS, B.COM, BSC, MSC, and other academic levels.

PM Laptop Scheme 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Students enrolled in the first-year semester of a four-year B.Sc. or BS program in any HEC-recognized university or college are eligible to apply for the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme. To qualify, students must have secured over 70 percent marks in the annual examination with a CGPA of 3.
The official PM Youth website will list eligible candidates, with plans to include new applicants from Azad Kashmir and Occupied Kashmir.
PM Laptop Scheme 2024 Online Apply
The Government of Pakistan has yet to officially launch a portal for PM Laptop Scheme applications. Only HEC university students can apply, and each university may have specific criteria. Applicants should contact their university’s DSA, where they will receive and submit the required form.
The university DSA office will assess eligibility, and details for the application process can be found on the official website, including the list of eligible universities.

General Instructions for Free Laptop Scheme
After registration, applicants can check their application status, view eligible universities, and find the contact details of their respective university focal persons on the official website. A Frequently Asked Questions section provides additional information.
During registration, students must submit accurate CNIC, mobile number, and email address details. Any discrepancies may result in registration cancellation. Students experiencing issues with SMS receipt during the application can send complaints to pmnlscomplaint@hec.gov.pk, while general queries can be directed to pmnls@hec.gov.pk.
The government has initiated the distribution of laptops through the free laptop scheme, with over two lakh laptops already distributed since July 8th. Recipients are requested to be patient as laptops will be distributed based on their university’s schedule.
Post the free laptop distribution, Qaim Rehanullahwala has introduced a scheme offering laptops at a nominal cost of 1000 rupees. This initiative aims to promote online work awareness across Pakistan and provide employment opportunities.

PM Laptop Scheme Phase IV Update
Scheduled for 2024, PM Laptop Scheme Phase IV will distribute over 1.5 lakh laptops among students, as announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The increase in the number of laptops is in response to the high demand from deserving students during Phase III, ensuring more students can benefit from the scheme in the coming year.
