If successful, the candidate is given to a monkey in the next phase of the first test.
Dr. Tahir added that a locally developed coronavirus vaccine will reduce Pakistan’s reliance on imported COVID-19 vaccines and ensure adequate availability of the coronavirus vaccine.
In addition, UVAS officials gave a presentation to Punjabi Prime Minister Usman Buzdar on how their COVID-19 vaccine candidate works. CM Punjab was impressed by UVAS officials and agreed to donate 100 million rupees to UVAS to make the country’s first locally developed COVID-19 vaccine.
