The Ministry of Health has decided to source one million doses of Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine, which is expected to arrive in Pakistan in August or September.
According to the details, Pfizer has assured the government that it will provide the doses, and Pakistan has also purchased 23 ultra-cold refrigerators for the company’s mRNA vaccine.

The Ministry of Health said the vaccine, which has an efficacy rate of over 90%, will be made available to people with low immunity. The previous Friday, more than 100,000 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine came to Pakistan through the COVAX program.
According to a statement by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Pakistan, these vaccines will be used for the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination campaign in Pakistan.
He congratulated the Government of Pakistan and the Ministry of National Health Services on successfully launching the COVID-19 vaccination campaign across the country, on the excellent arrangements in vaccination centers, and on engaging everyone over the age of 18.
UNICEF Pakistan said this shipment of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is the second shipment of the vaccine that Pakistan has received under the COVAX program.
Earlier this month, UNICEF led efforts to purchase and ship over one million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine to Pakistan on behalf of COVAX.

The statement added that COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective and urged citizens to sign up for the vaccination campaign.
