On Thursday, Pakistan witnessed the voting process for the general elections of 2024. Following the conclusion of polling at 5:00 pm, anticipation surged among voters awaiting the outcome.

A staggering 12.8 million eligible voters exercised their democratic right to elect representatives for 265 seats in the National Assembly and 590 seats in provincial assemblies. A remarkable 166 political parties participated in these elections.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) allocated 150 distinct symbols to registered political entities, while 174 symbols were allotted to independent candidates.
Nationwide, the ECP established 90,675 polling stations, with 25,320 designated for male voters and 23,952 for female voters.
Additionally, 41,403 joint polling stations were set up across the country. In Punjab alone, 50,944 polling stations were arranged, comprising 14,556 for men, 14,036 for women, and 22,352 joint stations.
To streamline the electoral process, the ECP introduced an Election Management System (EMS), developed by a private firm. This software is designed to function both online and offline, facilitating the compilation of data from Forms 45 and 47 post-voting.

The voting process encompassed 265 National Assembly constituencies nationwide, with fierce competition anticipated among major political players such as PML-N and PTI.
