Pakistan Blocks Passports of 4,700 Criminals in UAE

The Pakistani government has taken a firm stance on citizens involved in criminal activities abroad, particularly in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to ARY News, citing the Ministry of Interior.

Sources reveal that the passports of 4,700 Pakistani nationals currently imprisoned in the UAE have been deactivated. This decision comes after UAE authorities provided detailed reports on 5,292 Pakistanis serving sentences for various crimes.

Among them, 2,470 individuals were convicted of drug-related offenses, while 100 were involved in fraud, deception, and sexual harassment cases. In addition, 704 Pakistanis convicted of theft and 216 for murder and robbery have had their passports invalidated. The passports of 375 Pakistani nationals living illegally in the UAE have also been revoked.
