The Pakistani rupee (PKR) continuously increasing its value against the US dollar (USD) in the interbank market. This is the seventh day in a row that the rupee has improved its value against the dollar.
The rupee gained 44 paisas against the USD in the interbank currency market today, closing at Rs. 152.59 per dollar at the end of today’s trading day (Thursday 6th May) compared to Rs. 153.03 against the US dollar on Wednesday 5th May.

According to a trader, the rupee had appreciated due to oath-related remittance inflows. He said Pakistanis overseas generally send money to their relatives for Eid celebrations.
The financial markets will be closed from May 10th to 15th, 2021 on the occasion of the Eid holidays.
The Pakistani rupee also had mixed results against other major currencies in the interbank foreign exchange market.

PKR lost 2 countries against the euro, nearly 30 countries against the Australian dollar (AUD), and 10 countries against the Canadian dollar (CAD).
However, against the British pound (GBP), PKR recorded growth of 25 countries.
PKR has seen gains of 12 countries versus the UAE dirham (AED) and 11 countries versus the Saudi rial (SAR) in today’s interbank market.
