Over 6,800 Polling Stations Identified as High Sensitivity Zones in Sindh

The Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister, Justice (Retd) Maqbool Baqar, chaired the 30th session of the provincial Apex Committee at CM House to review election preparations and tasks outlined in the national action plan. The committee discussed arrangements for the upcoming election, revealing a total of 19,008 polling stations categorized as normal, sensitive, and highly sensitive.

Sindh Designates 6,801 Polling Stations as Highly Sensitive Areas

The IG Police outlined a deployment strategy, with varying numbers of personnel assigned to each type of polling station. A deployment of 143,156 police personnel was planned, supplemented by Rangers and Army personnel at highly sensitive stations. Lt. Gen. Babar Iftikhar updated on army troop deployment across the province for election duty.

The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction with the arrangements after personally overseeing preparations at divisional headquarters. Regional election commissioners also expressed satisfaction, particularly regarding security measures.

Additionally, concerns were raised about street crime in November 2023, prompting the establishment of a specialized motorcycle squad named Shaheed Force to address the issue effectively.
