The 96th edition of the Academy Awards, slated for March 27, 2024, will grace the iconic Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. ABC will broadcast the event live, reaching audiences in over 225 countries and territories globally. The eagerly anticipated nominations will be unveiled on February 8, 2024.
Oscar Categories for 2024
Major Awards:
- Best Picture: Recognizing excellence in overall film production.
- Best Director: Honoring the director of the most outstanding motion picture.
- Best Actor and Best Actress: Awarded to the leading male and female performers.
- Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress: Recognizing outstanding supporting performances.
Writing Awards:
- Best Adapted Screenplay: Honoring the best adaptation from an existing work.
- Best Original Screenplay: Recognizing outstanding original screenplays.
Technical Awards:
- Best Animated Feature Film: Acknowledging the best animated film of the previous year.
- Best Cinematography, Costume Design, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, Film Editing, International Feature Film, Live Action Short Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Original Score, Production Design, Sound, and Visual Effects: Recognizing achievements in various technical aspects of filmmaking.
