OpenAI Introduces The ChatGPT App For Smartphones
OpenAI recently launched a dedicated ChatGPT app exclusively for iOS users, which is free to download and install. This app brings more convenience to interact with the bot on the go while having several amazing features.
A notable feature is the inclusion of voice input, which takes advantage of OpenAI’s open-source Whisper speech recognition model. This integration allows you to use your voice to interact with the bot, adding another option to the chat experience.
Additionally, the app seamlessly syncs your chat history across multiple platforms including the web version of ChatGPT and other connected devices, ensuring a consistent and unified user experience. So you can continue your work on the go and keep track of all your previous queries.
ChatGPT Plus subscribers enjoy a variety of benefits including access to the enhanced version of GPT-4, early access to upcoming features, and faster response times, just like the web version.
Currently, iOS users in the US can download the app from the Apple App Store, and it will be available in other countries soon. Android users can expect a similar app availability schedule.
Recently, Sam Altman, CEO of Open AI, called for government regulation of AI during his testimony before the US Congress earlier this week.
The manager said:
We believe that regulatory intervention by governments will be essential to mitigate the risks of increasingly powerful models. I think the United States should take the lead here and get things done first, but to be effective we need something global.
