Interim Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, has clarified that there will be no further extension of the winter vacation in the region. Despite this, given the harsh winter conditions, adjustments in school timings have been announced.
Punjab’s schools are set to resume classes on January 10, with modified operating hours. From January 10 to 22, classes will commence at 9:30 am. Naqvi stressed the significance of students wearing warm clothing to cope with the prevailing winter conditions.
This update from Naqvi was communicated through a post on the social media platform ‘X,’ formerly known as Twitter, providing the public with information about the revised schedule for school openings during this period.

To provide context, the annual winter break for Punjab schools began on December 18, 2023, and was initially scheduled to conclude on January 1, 2024.
In a related development, the Sindh education department has announced that schools in the region will now open at 9 am instead of the previously extended time of 8:30 am, which had been updated from the original opening time of 8 am just last week.
