Who Was Nikolai Mushegian? Biography, Wiki
Nikolai Mushegian, a talented young cryptocurrency pioneer, tweeted on Oct. 28 that the intelligence agencies were coming to assassinate him. A few hours later he was found dead on a beach in Puerto Rico.
Mushegian was a major architect of stablecoin systems (coins without government backing) and a pioneer in the development of Maker DAO, the largest decentralized finance (DeFi) network.
The Scrambler has been described as “very extremely intelligent”, but also experienced intense bouts of paranoia from someone who knew Mushegian very well for years before they fell out two years ago.

“The CIA, Mossad, and elite pedophiles are running some sort of sex-trafficking blackmail ring out of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean islands,” tweeted Mushegian, a developer of blockchain-based decentralized finance platforms who wanted to crack down on global bank corruption.
“They’re going to catch me with a laptop that my ex [girlfriend] who was a spy planted in me. They will torture me to death.”
The 29-year-old then walked in front of his $6 million beachfront property in San Juan, Puerto Rico’s affluent Condado neighborhood. A surfer from Ashford Beach spotted Mushegian’s body in the waves just after 9 am. The area is so well known for its currents that nearby hotels advise against swimming in the sea. Sources told the Post that he was dressed normally and was carrying his wallet.
Conspiracy theories have been fueled online and in Puerto Rico’s tight-knit cryptocurrency community following the news of Mushegian’s death, his latest tweet, and other somber posts about battling “evil” members of the “insurance cartel” using “debt and extortion” as weapons.
“So Nikolai is still F-KING DEAD,” Spankchain CEO Ameen Soleimani tweeted on Oct. 3.
“My money is on his murder. He was found drowned 4 hours after his riskiest tweet. Death has nothing to do with his tweet…”
“Mushegian…tweeted 4 days ago about the CIA, Mossad, and child abuse elites and feared for his life…Found dead yesterday…Child abuse elites are real…why Epstein killed himself,” Smoky Bear wrote.
Mushegian tweeted in September that he had “three possible targets for me: 1) CIA suicide 2) CIA brain damaged slave.”
According to the source, who asked not to be identified, he had mental health issues. From time to time he consulted a psychiatrist. He was a heavy weed smoker.
The source didn’t elaborate but said Meshugian was in contact with federal organizations at the time, possibly including the CIA.
The source claimed that “part of his paranoia was based on reality.”
“He would make discoveries. He had knowledge. Nikolai found the mundane aspects of life rather boring. He was chasing things and getting into weird situations all the time. Not for the money. I was curious about the corruption that led to things becoming the way they were.”
After a rocky breakup with the couple, whom he called a “spy” in his most recent tweet, the source described Mushegian as a recluse living alone with his dog, Sunny.
“He was a very odd guy,” added Mushegian’s source.
“He and I spent a lot of time together and I knew everything about him. He seemed cocky and arrogant, but that was just his autism. He was a huge nerd, but he wasn’t intimidated by anyone. He had a collection of firearms: long guns, rifles, rifles. He loved guns and knew he wanted to protect himself. Maybe he knew too much or “I wanted to report someone. He said exactly what he had in mind. I didn’t have a filter.”
However, Brock Pierce, the “Mighty Ducks” child star-turned-billionaire crypto pioneer who moved to Puerto Rico in 2017 and started the great exodus of crypto tsars there, knew Mushegian and believes the death was just a tragedy, which may never be explained.
Pierce told the Post that when they first learned of Mushegian’s death, he and other members of the community were “stunned” at what might have happened to him.
