NEPRA Announces Power Tariff Reductions for DISCOs and K-Electric Consumers

On Tuesday, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) announced a reduction in power tariffs. Consumers of all power distribution companies (DISCOs) will see a 75 paisa per unit drop for November, while K-Electric consumers will benefit from a 49 paisa per unit decrease for October. This adjustment is part of the monthly fuel adjustment (FCA) mechanism.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA), representing DISCOs, had requested a 63 paisa per unit decrease for November, while K-Electric had asked for a 27 paisa reduction for October. However, NEPRA approved a slightly higher reduction—75 paisa for DISCOs and 49 paisa for K-Electric.
