Murree Administration is Preparing For The Summer Tourist Season

The County Council has issued instructions to the County Council, local police, traffic police and other departments in Murree to make arrangements for the summer tourist season within a week.

This comes after Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaquat Ali paid a surprise visit to Chattha Murree to assess preparations for the season and chaired a meeting to review the progress of ongoing development plans.

During the meeting, it was announced that a parking lot would be built on Jhika Street, covering an area of 10 channels with a capacity for 700 vehicles. There were also plans to establish a gymkhana club on a ten-canal site in Lower Jhika Gali.

The Department of Public Health and Engineering has presented a plan to construct a treatment plant to address waste management issues affecting Murree’s water supply at Rawal Dam. The purpose of this installation is to protect clean water from contamination.

PHA Managing Director Ahmed Hasan Ranjha announced that a 16-canal public park will be built in Murree. To reduce traffic congestion, Punjab Highway Authority is building roads from Bansara Gali to Bariyan, Bostal Mor to Burori and Gharial Camp to Kari Nakar.

Commissioner Chattha stressed the need for the car park to be completed quickly and stressed that the Gymkhana club would benefit both the local community and tourists. He directed the highway authority to expedite roadworks, noting that Murree is a “climate-sensitive location” that requires appropriate action.
