During Microsoft’s Build conference, CEO Satya Nadella briefly mentioned that ‘the new version Windows’ is about to be on the way.
Now we know when we’re going to find out, as Microsoft is hosting a Windows-centric event on June 11th at 11 AM EST.
Yes, 11 through 11. It certainly suggests Windows 11, doesn’t it?
Even the ad from the previous event shows an ’11’ in the light falling through the window without the shadow of the horizontal bar.
That could mean that Microsoft has decided that Windows 10 won’t be the latest version of Windows after all.
For me, the two parallel rays of light going through the Windows logo are related to the dual-screen changes in Windows that Microsoft developed for Windows 10X.
Microsoft recently decided not to create two versions of Windows and chose to implement these dual-screen tweaks in the major version of Windows 10.
CEO Satya Nadella and Chief Product Officer Panos Panay could present that at the event later this month.
Will we see a new dual-screen device to display the update? Maybe even an updated Surface Duo no longer runs on Android?
However, these are just some of our best guesses. We know there are new system icons, file explorer improvements, updates for multi-monitor use, and the Xbox Auto HDR feature now available in Insider Builds.

We’ll likely also get more information on the changes to the Windows Store that could include the addition of non-UWP apps and competing payment platforms.
