Microsoft Teams Is Getting A New Feature To Make Video Calling Easier
Microsoft Team’s new feature allows users to hide their own video stream during a call. This helps reduce user distraction during the call while keeping your video visible to other participants.
The official Microsoft 365 roadmap entry lists the feature as a work in progress, but the entry claims a tentative release date is January 2022. When it arrives, the feature will be available to all Microsoft Teams users worldwide.
The update is part of a series of features announced by Microsoft to improve the user experience of the platform by increasing productivity and efficiency in this time of stay-at-home and productivity.

In a recent announcement, Microsoft Teams presented another update that is also currently in the works. This upcoming feature will allow users to turn off notifications during a video call and stop distracting notifications or alerts during an important meeting.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said in a statement:
No area has changed faster in the past year than the way we work. Employee expectations are changing and we need to define productivity in a much broader way. All of this needs to be flexible about when, where, and how to work.
