In light of the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council’s (PMDC) updated merit policy as per the PMDC MDCAT Rule 2021, prospective students can now access a revised MDCAT aggregate calculator to determine their eligibility and merit.

This calculator facilitates the computation of your aggregate using the new merit formula, which considers your performance in intermediate (or its equivalent), matriculation (or its equivalent), and the entry test.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use the MDCAT Aggregate Calculator for 2023 and understand the calculation process.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The PMDC conducted the MDCAT 2023 on September 9, 2023. You can also find the MDCAT answer keys for this exam.

It’s often referred to as a merit calculator. Calculating this aggregate manually can be challenging for many students, but the PMC Aggregate Calculator streamlines the process. With this pre-designed automatic calculator, you can swiftly assess your merit score.

PMDC MDCAT Merit Formula

The merit and aggregate formula used by PMDC is primarily based on your matriculation (or its equivalent), intermediate (or its equivalent), and MDCAT 2023 marks. Each component carries a specific weight percentage as follows:

– Matriculation (or equivalent): 10%
– Intermediate (or equivalent): 40%
– PMDC MDCAT: 50%

In this formula, the marks obtained in matriculation (or its equivalent) are considered a minor factor in the overall merit calculation. The primary emphasis is placed on your intermediate (or equivalent) marks, which contribute the most to your final merit score. Additionally, the marks achieved in the entry test play a crucial role in determining the overall merit score.

Step 1: Calculate 50% of MDCAT

– Example Calculation: You got 167 marks in MDCAT.
– Calculate the percentage: (167/200) x 100 = 83.5%
– Result: 50% of MDCAT = 83.5 x (50/100) = 41.75

Step 2: Calculate 40% of FSC

– Example Calculation: You got 980 marks in FSC out of 1100.
– Calculate the percentage: (980/1100) x 100 = 89.09%
– Result: 40% of FSC marks = 89.09 x (40/100) = 35.63

Step 3: Calculate 10% of Matriculation

– Example Calculation: You got 910 marks out of 1100 in Matriculation.
– Calculate the percentage: (910/1100) x 100 = 82.72%
– Result: 10% of Matric Marks = 82.72 x (10/100) = 8.27

Step 4: Find the Aggregate Percentage

– Add up the percentages obtained in the previous steps: 41.75% (from MDCAT) + 35.63% (from FSC) + 8.27% (from Matriculation) = 85.65%

So, the complete aggregate percentage is 85.65%.

Passing Marks in MDCAT 2023

In the MDCAT 2023, there were a total of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each carrying 1 mark. To pass, you must obtain at least 120 out of the total 200 marks.
