PMDC MDCAT 2023 New Date Announced
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) on Tuesday postponed the Medical and Dental College Admission Test-2023 (MDCAT 2023) by two weeks.
So far, the entrance exam for the faculties of medicine and dentistry was held on 27th August according to last year’s program.
However, in light of guidelines issued by the federal government, the PMDC has extended the test date and announced that this year’s MDCAT will now take place on September 10, 2023 (Sunday).
“It is to be communicated to all applicants for MDCAT 2023 that in accordance with the instructions of the Federal Secretary, Ministry of Regulation and Coordination of National Health Services, Islamabad, the Federal Government has decided to extend the MDCAT exam and to reschedule it to a new date, on September 10. , 2023,” the statement said.
In the first week of this month, the PMDC decided to convene a council meeting after the Standing Committee on Health of the dissolved National Assembly asked the body to extend the date of the MDCAT by two weeks.
After attending the Standing Committee meeting, PMDC Acting Registrar Dr. Azhar Ali Shah said he had been instructed to extend the test date by two weeks.
“The PMDC Council has the power to extend the date, but if the Department of Health and the PMDC receive a formal request for an extension from the Standing Committee, we will definitely consider the issue of extending the date,” he said.
It is worth remembering that the PMDC Board has decided to hold the MDCAT on August 27th so that classes can start on time after the admissions deadline without wasting students’ time.
