MDCAT 2021 Controversy Continues As PPRA Declares Review Contract Illegal
The Public Procurement Regulator has stated that the Pakistan Medical Commission’s contract with a private company, SAOR, to conduct MDCAT audits violates its regulations.
As per the information, PPRA published 11 pages of its written decision on the audits and MDCAT 2021 contract documents, which indicated that 14 companies had applied for the contract. PMC illegally awarded the contract to SAOR.
The deadline for awarding the contract was 5th May, but SAOR registered on 21st May.

Students who took the MDCAT 2021 exam suffered because the computer systems did not work during the exam.
Therefore, the results of these students have been compromised due to the incompetence of the company.
In addition, the PPRA has established that the fees that the PMC charges students are public funds, so the Medical Association must apply the PPRA rules when making its decision.
Thousands of medical students have protested against the MDCAT 2021 entry test, which requires the exam to be rewritten for a single day rather than an entire month to ensure transparency and performance.
