Matric And Inter Students Will Receive An Extra 5% Marks, Says Shafqat Mahmood
The Federal Ministry of Education has decided that matric and inter students will receive an additional 5% marks in the compulsory subjects in addition to the marks in the compulsory elective exams.
The Department of Education made the decision after its research showed that Matric and Inter students score better on annual board exams in required subjects.
Federal Minister of Education Shafqat Mahmood confirmed to the media that there will be no exams for compulsory subjects and that students will only have to take exams for compulsory subjects.

Maintaining the previous decision with a new insert, the Ministry of Education also decided that the grades of the students in the elective subjects are distributed proportionally in the compulsory subjects in addition to 5% of the additional marks.
In addition, the Minister of Education said that schools in Punjab, Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir will continue with 50% attendance.
In Sindh, the planned school operation was interrupted by the unilateral decision of the provincial government to impose a ban.
The Sindh Department of Education will review the situation before August 8 and notify the Department of Education of its schedule for the school to reopen.
