The Punjab Education Department (PED) has announced a schedule for educational activities, exams, and a new admission policy for the Rawalpindi division, covering the period from January 15 to May 31.
The academic year 2025-2026 is set to start on April 1, with admissions for junior preparatory, nursery, and other early grades beginning on February 3.
The annual exams will kick off with Matriculation on March 4, followed by Class IX on March 21, and Intermediate exams in the first week of May.

Government school admissions will take place in two phases. The first runs from April 1 to May 31 for classes I and II, while the second will be held from August 15 to October 31 for additional enrollments. For classes I to VIII, exams are scheduled between March 12 and March 25, with results announced on March 31. Schools will allocate 10% of their total capacity for new students in each grade.
Private schools will start their admissions on February 1. Their annual exams will take place in February, and the new academic year will begin in March, according to Abrar Ahmad Khan, president of the All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association.
