Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched the Honhaar Scholarship Programme in Dera Ghazi Khan, distributing over Rs 30 million to 1,200 students. She expressed plans to expand the initiative to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, emphasizing the government’s focus on education and technology.
Maryam announced upcoming initiatives, including laptops and e-bikes for students, and confirmed that high achievers scoring above 65% would soon receive laptops. The Honhaar programme currently offers 30,000 scholarships annually, with plans to increase this to 50,000 in the next budget.
