Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has promised to support outstanding students by providing necessary resources and scholarships so that they can easily bear their educational expenses.
While speaking to students at Bahauddin Zakariya University in Multan on Monday, Maryam Nawaz reassured high-achieving students that they wouldn’t have to worry about funding their education. She stated that the government is dedicated to supporting their academic paths.

The Chief Minister expressed disappointment that public funds had not been used effectively for the people’s welfare over the past 75 years. She assured the audience that the “Honhaar Scholarship Program” would gradually expand, including international scholarship opportunities in the future.
Maryam Nawaz also shared plans to distribute laptops to students soon and mentioned the success of female students, noting that 60% of the Honhaar Scholarship recipients are women.
Addressing environmental concerns, she spoke about the need to adopt electric vehicles (e-vehicles) to promote a cleaner environment in Punjab. She also mentioned that a Chinese company is interested in setting up an electric bike manufacturing plant in the province.

On top of scholarships, the Chief Minister announced interest-free loans for deserving students, aimed at helping them start businesses after graduation. She revealed that over Rs. 100 million would be offered through this initiative.
In addition, 30,000 students will receive scholarships, with the requirement that they avoid participating in anti-state activities.
