Martin Amis Cause Of Death
British author Martin Amis has died after losing his battle with cancer. The 73-year-old writer reportedly died of esophageal cancer at his home in Lake Worth, Fla., on Friday.
Friends’ best-known works include Money: A Suicide Note, London Fields, and The Information.
He was also one of the most celebrated writers on the British literary scene of the 1980s.
His wife, Isabel Fonseca, confirmed that his death was caused by esophageal cancer.
The Booker Awards paid tribute to the literary giant on Twitter.
The message read: “We are saddened to learn that Martin Amis, one of the most celebrated and discussed novelists of the last 50 years, has passed away.”
“Our thoughts are with his family and friends.”
Born in Oxford in 1949, Amis was educated in the UK and abroad.
Eventually, he attended Exeter College, Oxford, where he received first-class honors in English.
The well-known writer was the son of Booker Prize winner Kingsley Amis.
