Mark Redwine, convicted of the murder of his 13-year-old son in 2012, was sentenced Friday morning to 48 years in prison by a La Plata County judge.
Judge Jeffrey Wilson said Redwine still takes no responsibility for what he did to his son.

During the trial and oral argument, District Attorney Michael Dougherty argued that Dylan’s relationship deteriorated when Dylan flew to Durango in 2012 to visit his father.
Mark killed his son in a seizure hours later during an argument.
Mark Redwine has always denied any involvement in the disappearance and death of his son.
Although much of the evidence adduced by prosecutors is circumstantial, Dougherty argued at trial that Mark Redwine killed and dismembered his son, scattered his skull and other remains from his home on Middle Mountain Road, and told the jury that evidence showed force and shear injuries to Dylan’s remains.
Sentenced To Prison For 48 Years
When the verdict was announced Friday morning, Wilson said he found it difficult to remember a convicted defendant who showed no remorse for his criminal conduct.
“The community must be protected from you. You have to be away from society for a very long time,” Wilson said.
“I will sentence him to 48 years in prison on both counts, with five years probation, serving them at the same time. You will receive a credit of 1,540 days for the time worked.”
When Mark Redwine was sentenced, Brandon Redwine, Dylan’s half-brother, said he wanted to make it clear that Mark Redwine’s actions alone led to this moment.
Dylan’s older brother Cory Redwine said his younger brother was his hero, prayed to him, and dreamed of him. He told her that Mark Redwine’s “selfish ways” got him.
Dougherty claimed Mark Redwine was furious and killed his son after Dylan confronted him with photos allegedly showing Mark eating poo and wearing lingerie.
