Lt Gen Amjad Shoaib Early Life
Amjad Shoaib was the 35th Chief of General Staff (CGS) in the Pakistan Army and is a former three-star general. On September 8, 2021, he was replaced by Lt. Gen. Muhammad Saeed.
At Rawalpindi headquarters, the chief of staff directs operations and intelligence. Abbas was commissioned into the 41st Battalion, Baloch Regiment.
Previously he was a divisional commander at Murree, commander of the infantry and tactics school at Quetta, a brigadier in the operations department, and private secretary to General Raheel Sharif, the former army chief of staff. A First Information Report (FIR) was filed against the former army officer at Ramna Police Station last night following his television interview.
According to police sources, the FIR filed a request under Sections 153A and 505 of Pakistan’s Penal Code.
According to FIR, Shuaib incited people to rebel against the institutions during his televised speech. The agents locked him in the police station. Authorities will take him to a local court this morning to request his preventive detention.
