Local School Districts Say The Threat Of School Violence On TikTok Is Not Credible
A threat of violence in schools across the country spread via social media on Friday, December 17, causing concern among parents.
Some Piedmont Triad school districts commented on the threat from the school Thursday night, saying it was not believable.

Schools in Elkin City, Schools in Stokes County, Schools in Surry County, and Schools in Yadkin County say they are aware of the threat, and so are law enforcement officials.
“Although we do not consider the threat to be credible, we are closely monitoring the situation, and classes will continue as usual tomorrow, December 17, 2021.” Read an article from Surry County Schools on Facebook.
“These threats are not considered credible. They are found in many churches in the United States. However, we will continue to monitor social media and consult with law enforcement,” read a post from Yadkin County Schools.
Elkin Town Schools wrote that the City Police Department is working with the school staff: “We are taking all necessary precautions, increasing staff visibility and calling in law enforcement agencies. Tomorrow additional order on the school campus.”
