Lindsay Shiver Arrested in The Bahamas For Alleged Conspiracy To Murder The Auburn Football Player’s Ex-Husband
A Georgia mother of three and former beauty pageant queen in the Bahamas has reportedly been arrested for conspiring to murder her estranged husband, a former Auburn University football star.
According to Bahamas Court News, Lindsay Shiver, 36, was arrested when Bahamas police investigating another case uncovered her alleged plot to murder her husband, Robert Shiver, 38.
Terrance Bethel, 28, who was identified in the publication as Lindsay Shiver’s lover, and Faron Newbold were also arrested in connection with the alleged scheme.
While searching the phone of a suspected burglar at Grabber’s Bar and Grill in Great Guana Cay, Bahamas, local police earlier this month uncovered texts detailing the plan.
It wasn’t immediately clear if the phone belonged to Shiver, Bethel, or Newbold. According to a source familiar with the matter, Robert and Lindsay Shiver own a home in the Bahamas near where she met Bethel, her accused lover.
According to the publication, Robert Shiver, snapper for the Auburn Tigers from 2006 to 2008, filed for divorce after finding out his wife was having an affair with Bethel.
As per the publication, Lindsay Shiver was named Miss Houston County in 2005 and placed second in the National Peanut Festival competition that year. According to WTVY, she bribed a would-be hitman to carry out the murder after her husband filed for divorce.
Lindsay Shiver, Bethel, and Newbold were arrested and transferred from Guana to the capital of the Caribbean state of Nassau.
According to the publication, they appeared in court on Friday but were not forced to plead guilty.
The trio are scheduled to appear in court again on October 5.
According to Lindsay Shiver’s Instagram, the couple met in 2007 during a gym class at Auburn University.
“I’m grateful for the fitness class that brought us together 13 years ago and for all the love, laughter, and life we’ve created since then.” Love you, darling. “Well done many others,” Lindsay Shiver wrote in the caption of a 2020 post that included a series of photos, one of which showed the pair on their wedding day.
Robert Shiver signed as a free agent with the Atlanta Falcons after his stint at Auburn University but was released before the start of the 2009 season.
In Thomasville, Georgia, he is identified as Executive Vice President of Senior Life Insurance Company.
