LHC Placed Written Order For Winter Vacations Extension
The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday delivered a written ruling in its yesterday’s order to extend the winter holidays amid smog, Some news media reported.
Judge Shahid Karim, in a two-page written order, ordered the Punjab Ministry of Education to issue a notice extending the winter break.
The written order stipulated that the extension of the winter holidays would be implemented in all educational institutions, including schools and colleges.
On Tuesday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered the winter break to be extended by another week in light of the growing danger of smog.
The ordinances were approved by the LHC after hearing petitions filed for remedial action to address the smog problem.
Earlier, the Punjab government announced three days off a week for schools in the provincial capital due to extreme smog.

Smoke from vehicles, factories, and the burning of surplus crops were the main causes of the thick smog that envelops the cities at the beginning of winter.
