Laura Luelmo, a teacher who was allegedly raped and murdered by a neighbor just two months after being released from prison for the murder of another woman.
On Monday, convicted killer Bernardo Montoya, 53, appeared before a trial in Huelva, Spain, accused of torturing Laura Luelmo, 26, before killing her with a stone blow to the head.

The woman’s ordeal came in 2018 when Zamora, 26, moved to El Campillo, near Seville, to work as an art teacher, reports the Times.
Luelmo, who had previously complained to her boyfriend that her neighbor was staring at her, was allegedly assaulted on 12th December 2018 as she came home from the supermarket.
After serving a prison sentence, Montoya had just moved to the area for killing an 82-year-old woman after robbing her home, El Mundo reports.
Prosecutors allege that he attacked the teacher and forced her into his home before hitting her several times with a stick.
He allegedly tied and raped her before hitting her again with a “blunt object”.
As per the autopsy, the woman had sustained at least 40 wounds all over her body.
Montoya allegedly put his body in the trunk of his car and went to the area around Las Mimbreras to get rid of it.
His disappearance sparked a frantic search and his body was finally discovered five days later when Montoya was arrested in a nearby town.
Although he first confessed to the murder, he later tried to blame his ex-girlfriend.
He told police that he returned to the scene and found that his victim was still breathing, so he hit her on the head with a stone.
The teacher’s case initially confused investigators when Montoya’s identical twin brother Luciano appeared, who is also serving 18 years in prison for the murder of a woman.
Luelmo’s death sparked anger across the country, with thousands of women protesting with the slogan #WeAreAllLaura.

Montoya’s trial is set to take place this week as his lawyers try to reduce his sentence by undergoing a medical exam to prove his helplessness.
The convicted killer was brought to justice yesterday for torturing, raping, and murdering a young woman in a wave of protests across Spain.
