Kroger Mass Shooting
Twelve people were injured and one killed in the Kroger shooting. Collierville Police Chief Dale Lane confirmed at a press conference that a gunman shot several people, the alleged assailant’s vehicle was parked in the parking lot and the assailant is dead as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
There are at least 13 victims, including two dead, including the shooter, he said.
“It breaks my heart to have to stand in front of you today,” he said. Lane called it “the most terrible event that has happened in the history of Collierville”.
Jennifer Casey, a public information officer for Collierville City, confirmed to Business Appeal that there was an active shooter at the Kroger.
She told the newspaper there were multiple injuries but did not provide any details.
Lane said the call went off at 1:30 p.m. for an active shooter. The police arrived four minutes later. “Several people were shot as we entered the building,” Lane said, adding that police were going from hall to hall, removing employees who were in hiding and helping injured victims.
He said the alleged ‘gunman’s’ vehicle was in the parking lot and that police were waiting for additional equipment to search the car.
“The shooter is dead,” he confirmed. “We believe it will come from self-inflicted gunshot wounds.”
The first police audio available on Broadcastify indicated that at the back of Kroger, next to the dumpster, there were “four gunshot victims”, one person was “near the grocery store with a gunshot wound. bullet in a possible shoulder,” and ‘one’ the other part was on the outskirts of Kroger, with a gunshot wound to the shoulder and back. “Several subjects were” behind Kroger’s back.”
Fox13 reported that its intelligence teams saw “two medical helicopters land on the outskirts of Kroger” and the Collierville high school was temporarily closed.
“Memphis Police confirmed there had been gunfire in the Kroger. Memphis Police officers are at the scene of a Kroger shooting at 240 New Byhalia Road in Collierville, TN to assist the Collierville Police Force. The MPD helps secure the perimeter and the stage,” they wrote on Twitter.
It’s a community in Shelby County, a suburb of Memphis. Photos and videos showed a massive response from law enforcement at the crime scene.
Authorities have yet to confirm details, including the suspect’s name and mobile. In the afternoon of 23rd September 2021, reports of active shooters emerged.
1 Killed & 12 Wounded in Tennessee Store
As per the city spokeswoman Jennifer Casey, 14 people were injured Thursday in the shooting of a Kroger in Collierville, Tennessee.
Casey said at least one person has died.
The deceased victim will be separated from the also deceased shooter, Casey said.
In Memphis, the Regional One Health Medical Center received nine patients from Thursday afternoon’s shooting at a Kroger in Collierville, Tennessee, Angie Golding, the company’s director of strategic communications, told CNN.
Of the nine, four were in critical condition, Golding said.
Suspect Shooter
A Kroger employee described the scene at the Collierville, Tennessee store where she said a rifleman started shooting her and her colleagues as they tried to hide.
Brignetta Dickerson told CNN affiliate WMC that she thought it was “balloons that burst at the start of filming.”
Dickerson, who has worked at Kroger for 32 years, told WMC he was working at the cash desk when filming began in the store’s delicatessen section.
She told WMC that she had run into hiding with some of her colleagues, but the gunman came right behind them and started shooting.
“He kept shooting, shooting, shooting,” Dickerson said.
“He shot a colleague of mine in the head, then he shot a client in the stomach, then my other client cut himself like cuts in the asphalt.”
“I’m a little scared and I’m shaking a bit, but I’m fine,” Dickerson said.
