The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cabinet has given the green light to a one-year paid internship program for 650 BS Nursing graduates through the Provincial Health Services Academy (PHSA).
Each nursing intern will receive Rs31,000 per month while training at teaching hospitals across the province.

Advisor to the Chief Minister on Health, Ihtesham Ali, shared that this is the first time BS Nursing graduates have been offered a paid internship. He mentioned that after the BS Nursing program was introduced at PHSA-affiliated colleges, there was a clear need for this step. The Health Department moved quickly to get Cabinet approval.
“Just a month ago, I assured protesting students that a paid internship would be set up within a month. Today, we have fulfilled that promise,” he said.

Along with this decision, the Cabinet approved the appointment of a new Chairman for the PEPOS board and its reconstitution.
