Karachi Records The Lowest Temperature in Decades
Towards the end of the rainy season, the whole country is hit by a severe cold snap. Record temperatures are expected in parts of Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Karachi is experiencing its coldest winter in decades. The provincial capital has experienced record temperatures time and time again this season.
Karachi woke up on Friday after witnessing the coldest night of this winter season.
According to Pak Weather, the largest network of automated weather stations in Pakistan, Karachi recorded 4.9C last night.
Speaking to a news media spokesperson, Owais Hyder, a weather analyst and CEO of Pak Weather, said this temperature was recorded in the city of Surjani. In the rest of the city, temperatures fluctuated between 6 and 11°C.
Previously, on 5th January, Karachi registered 5.8 °C. This was recorded in Malir Cantt. Note here that these record temperatures for Karachi for this winter season alone.
The coldest temperature ever recorded in Karachi was 0°C in 1934. Regarding the current cold snap, temperatures could drop to 0°C in central parts of Sindh this week and below 0°C in the west and northwest.
