Kailey Mach was a Minnesota college student who cared for a family dog who was killed in an explosion that destroyed her home, where her body was found in the basement.

A representative from the University of Augsburg told KARE 11 that the school is “deeply saddened by Kailey’s tragic death over the weekend and we offer our sincere condolences to her family, friends, teachers, classmates, and everyone who was close to her.
Mach’s friend Shelby told WCCO that the young woman is “always talking about how she’s going to change the world by teaching the next generation.”
“She didn’t care if she was having a bad day, if you told her you were upset she wouldn’t rest until you made her smile,” he added.
The Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office and State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the cause of the blast, which is currently unclear.

Her uncle Tim Siebsen told KARE 11 that she dreams of becoming a kindergarten teacher.
“She worked very hard to become a teacher; He would graduate almost a year early,” Siebsen told the outlet.
“She was a staff member at TCU Schools who worked as a KidZone manager (before and after childcare) [and] also worked as a preschool assistant in the district,” he said.
“She was so loved by all her children. She was so loved by everyone who knew her. He did all of this while taking on more than a full-time class load in Augsburg,” added Siebsen.
