A murder investigation is underway in Glasgow after a 14-year-old was found fatally injured at a train station.
McLaughlin was found seriously injured at the city’s High Street station on Saturday afternoon after police described a “shocking act of violence”.
He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but died.
Trains were diverted from the station on Saturday night after it was closed to police for investigation.
Scottish police said the death was being treated as murder and there had been a call for witnesses.
What Police Have Investigated Up Till Now?
Scottish police have confirmed they are treating the death as murder and are looking for witnesses to help them with their investigation.
DCI Brian Geddes of the Forces Majors Investigation Team said, “Our thoughts remain with Justin’s family and friends. Her family has asked for her privacy to be respected during this difficult time, and specialist officials are helping her.”
“Although the investigation is still in its early stages, we know there has been an incident at High Street Station and we are sure there will be people who may have seen something previously.”

“The area has reportedly been occupied by citizens and commuters, and we urge those with even minimal information to contact the police.”
He added that part of the incident was recorded on CCTV, which was a “big advantage”. Although it is too early to say whether the attack was targeted or not, police have remained open-minded.
UK traffic police DI Marc Francey added: “This was a shocking act of violence in broad daylight in which a child was tragically killed.”
“We are working closely with the Scottish Police and are doing our best to find those responsible.”
