Juliana Terlizzi Rape Victim Claims Police Made Inappropriate Comments
A rape victim who eight months ago complained about the lack of professionalism of a police officer handling her case is still awaiting a response from the authorities.
The Met officer is said to have made disturbing remarks to Juliana Terlizzi, 35, during her trial about the clothing she wore in a video captured by her attacker, Hubert Greliak.
She claims the police officer also inquired about her online investigation into her “former relationships” and emailed her at 2 am to tell him that the panic alarm in his house would go off.
Juliana claims the officer was aware of her “suicidal feelings” at the time. Despite cook Juliana’s horror, her ex-boyfriend Greliak, 33, was sentenced in April to 18 years in prison for drugging and raping her at their home in Ealing, west London.
She said: “When the trial ended I thought I could get my life back on track. But despite various complaints, I’m still waiting for a solution. You want the police to take care of you… instead, I’m afraid of them.”
After officially reporting her grievances to another official on 28th April Juliana did so again on the Met’s website in May.
On 18th November, he received the latest report, which said investigators were “still awaiting a written response” from the officer.
The accused official has received a response to Juliana’s claims, according to the Met’s Sunday Mirror report, but has not yet received one.
A spokeswoman said: “A local professional standards team is investigating this.”
It follows the revelation by Sir Mark Rowley, the Met’s new commissioner, last month that 100 officers are banned from speaking to the public, while 500 are on reduced duty or suspended after being charged with serious misconduct.
