Joe Biden Transfers Power To Kamala Harris During Colonoscopy
The president will be anesthetized during a routine colonoscopy as part of his annual screening.
President Joe Biden will hand over power to Vice President Kamala Harris on November 19 while under anesthesia for a routine colonoscopy, which he will undergo as part of his annual screening, the press secretary said White House, Jen Psaki.
“The Vice President will be working from her office in the West Wing during this time,” Ms. Psaki said.
President George W. Bush transferred presidential power to the vice president in 2002 and 2007, when he underwent a colonoscopy, and the transfer follows the process outlined in the constitution, Psaki said.
