YouTube Scuba-Diver Find Missing Teens Car
Teenagers Erin Foster and Jeremy Bechtel, both of Sparta, Tennessee, were last seen leaving Erin’s house in her 1988 Pontiac Grand Am on 3rd April 2000.
All of that changed recently when Sheriff Steve Page of the White County Sheriff’s Office said he learned of Sides’ diving efforts when he went to church on November 28th.
When speaking with a family member of Erin Foster, they asked her if she had seen any of the Sides videos, police wrote in a 2nd December press release.
“The bailiff said no but asked him to send him the link to the website,” the authorities added.
“The sheriff said on the way home that he saw the video and contacted the man.”
Jeremy Sides Finds A Missing Teenager’s Car
Jeremy Beau Sides is a YouTuber who dives in rivers and lakes to solve missing persons cases and “help close families in need,” according to his channel “Exploring With Nug”.
Sides recently focused on the case of Erin Foster, 18, and Jeremy Bechtel, 17, who disappeared without a trace on April 3, 2000, NBC News reported, citing the County Sheriff’s Office.
In his press release, Sheriff Page stated that after investigating the matter further, he told Sides that he “felt like he was looking in the wrong area and informed him of the area where the couple disappeared 21 years ago”.
As per the sheriff, that location was the Calfkiller River near Highway 84 in Sparta, Tennessee.
Page said Sides immediately went to the area to search it on November 30 and quickly spotted a submerged vehicle.
The exciting moment was documented on his YouTube channel. The video showed Sides underwater cleaning algae from the submerged car to reveal the “Pontiac” label on the back and license plate of the vehicle.
Human remains were also found in the vehicle, CBS subsidiary WTVF reported.
After Sides showed up, he called Page to inform him of the discovery.
According to the press release, the site contacted Major John Meadows and a team arrived at the scene within minutes to conduct the investigation.
