Annapolis High School Teacher Accused Of Sexual Abuse Charges
Police wrote in the indictment documents that a former student told his mother that she had sex with Arnold when she was 15 and 16 years old.
Arnold was the former student’s legal guardian at the time, from November 2019 to February this year.
Anne Arundel Police and the welfare office were informed of a possible sex crime with Arnold and the former student on 6th July.
In July, Arnold had been working as an English and special education teacher at Annapolis High, the school since 2015, when police began investigating the allegation of sexual abuse.
The 17-year-old student, who now lives out of state, told detectives in an interview in late July that he had inappropriate sexual contact with Arnold while visiting Annapolis High, police said. He said that he was sexually abused several times a week.
The teen gave police more than 100 text messages between himself and Arnold’s verified phone number that contained discussions of sex or “sexual orientation” issues, police wrote.
Arnold filed a complaint with the Anne Arundel County Police Department on 25th Aug., alleging that the teen had repeatedly raped her and was “sexually aggressive” toward her, the officer wrote in the indictment documents.
“Jennifer Arnold then described an entangled incident in which it was alleged that she [the teenager] had exhibited aggressive behavior while she was sexually pursuing her,” the detective said. Derrick Graham wrote about the accusation. “(She) said that there had been several rapes, but that she could only give details of one.”
The police wrote that Arnold could not give clear answers to the sexual SMS with the teenager.
The teenager lived with alternate guardians in place of his mother for five years before Arnold approached his great-uncle’s home in May 2019. Arnold, the ninth-grade English teacher at Annapolis High, offered the teenager a room to stay at home.
At the end of the 2018-2019 school year, he switched to the police, the prosecutor wrote in documents.

Arnold was “detained without incident” after the investigation, which also included a questioning of him and “other potential witnesses.”
