Javon Duckwilder, from southeastern DC, was arrested Saturday on two counts of first-degree murder.
On Saturday, DC police arrested him in connection with two murders, including the murder of a customer at a northwest gas station in October 2020.

Why Was Javon Duckwilder Arrested?
Officials were called to the 2800 block of Southeast Alabama Avenue to report a shooting just after 8 p.m. Saturday.
They arrived to find an adult male who was later identified as Juwan Smith, 23, who was fatally shot.
A suspect, Javon Duckwilder, 24, from the South East, was arrested at the scene on preliminary charges of first-degree murder.
What Were The First-Degree Murder Charges?
Police say Duckwilder is now charged with the murder of 23-year-old Alexander Nwogu of Blacksburg, Va. On 5th October 2020.
Nwogu, who had graduated with honors from Virginia Tech University five months earlier, was shot dead at the Shell gas station on the 4900 block of Connecticut Avenue.
As per the DC court records, Duckwilder was charged with assault and attempted possession of a prohibited weapon in a domestic violence case in March 2016.
These charges were dropped two months later because they had not been prosecuted. Last September, the D.C. Superior Court issued an arrest warrant against him as a fugitive for vehicle theft in Maryland.
