Many TV show celebrities are giving their messages in tribute of World Mental Health Day to raise awareness and express encouragement for those who may be suffering. From her life, Good Place star Jameela Jamil shared that she sustained herself an attempt on her own life 6 years ago — and she is clearly saying about it, so others should know suicide can be cured and aid is available.
Jameela Jamil tweeted on Twitter to reveal the admission, elaborating that she tried to find treatment for her mental health issues after this bad event and finally she got the therapy in the form EMDR [Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing].
Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay This month, 6 years ago, I tried to take my own life. I’m so lucky that I survived, and went on to use EMDR to treat my severe PTSD. I urge you to hang on just a bit longer and ask for help if you need it. Because things can turn around. I promise.

In her comments, she further wrote,
“There is so much work needed in increasing awareness and mental health care, and we need to further de-condemn conversation around asking for assistance. If someone is suffering and isn’t feel relaxed enough to ask for assistance, they will not receive assistance.“
But if someone knows they can be obedient and in danger with their feelings, and if there is easy access to suicide-prevention resources, they’re most probably to seek (and receive) the assistance that they require, much like Jamil did.
This different breed of in danger boldness has become Jameela Jamil’s course of action. Earlier this week, in reply to a troll telling her she was “too old” to be dressed in a certain dress, Jameela Jamil clapped back by sharing she “had cancer two times” and now considers aging “an achievement/privilege.”
And it does not seem like a stretch to say her past with mental health issues notifies that life perspective as well.
