As per the Clermont police, Angélica Vences-Salgado called authorities on 2nd September after receiving a message on social media from a person claiming to be Jacqueline Hernández, the girl she had not seen since 2007 or heard from.
Hernández was reportedly kidnapped by her father, Pablo Hernández, in Clermont, Florida, and a felony arrest warrant was issued in December of the same year.
On the social media post, the woman who claimed to be Jacqueline Hernández told Vences-Salgado that she was in Mexico and asked her to meet her at the immigration office in Laredo, Texas on Friday, reported the police.
After investigation, authorities confirmed that the woman was Vences-Salgado’s daughter.
Authorities “established that the woman was Hernández, who was kidnapped by her mother in 2007. At around 4:55 p.m. Jacqueline, now 19, successfully reunited with her mother,” police said in a statement, taking a picture. women smiling and kissing.
No details are known about Hernández’s life since his kidnapping.
Her father’s status was unknown on Tuesday. It was not clear if the authorities were still looking for him.
