Islamabad Announces Summer Vacation 2022 For Schools
The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has announced early summer holidays due to the severe heatwave in all public and private schools operating in the Islamabad jurisdiction.
According to the announcement, there will be no lessons for preschool through fifth grade until the beginning of the next school year. The latest policy comes into effect immediately.
In addition, the FDE has also revised the timetables for classes 6 and higher. Schools and colleges open at 8:00 a.m. m. and close at 11:00. m. until the beginning of the summer holidays. The detailed summer vacation schedule for these classes will also be announced shortly.
As for the ongoing annual exams for grades five through eight, the FDE has also revised its schedules. The final exams now take place from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

The development comes a day after parents asked the FDE to announce the first summer vacation for schools amid extremely hot weather in Islamabad.
Parents said they fear for the well-being of their young children as it is extremely difficult to ensure children stay well hydrated during school hours, as doctors advise.
