After a period of uncertainty, Pakistan is gearing up for crucial elections scheduled for February 8th. However, the lead-up to the polls has been marred by incidents of pre-election violence, resulting in casualties and injuries.

Addressing concerns circulating regarding the potential suspension of mobile or Internet services on election day, caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi clarified that no such directive has been issued by the government to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) or any other relevant institution.

Solangi sought to reassure the public, affirming that there would be no restrictions on communication channels, and urged citizens to exercise their democratic right to vote thoughtfully. As a prominent figure in the Kakar-led interim government, he emphasized the critical role of voting in bolstering the democratic process.

He emphasized the significance of official media platforms in offering comprehensive coverage to all political entities, underlining the necessity of transparency and accountability throughout the electoral process.

Regarding concerns over law and order, the Minister assured that local authorities would take necessary measures within the bounds of the law to uphold peace and security.
