Is Crown Prince Dubai Hiring People Through His Facebook Account?

A new online scam has surfaced in which a Facebook scammer claims to be a prince from Dubai. This deceptive scheme aims to trick people into offering attractive job offers, however, they turn out to be fake.

As Africa Check, an African fact-checking agency, reported, a Facebook post on June 2, 2023, caught the attention of hundreds of people. It said there were vacancies in Dubai for 12 doctors and 20 nurses from different countries. Interested people have been urged to send private messages for more information on these alleged works.

The post featured flag emojis representing countries such as the United States (US), the United Kingdom (UK), Canada, Mexico, Pakistan, and Brazil. These emojis were used to make the offer attractive to people of different nationalities.

The fake Facebook account is named after Sheikh Hamdan Muhammed. However, it is important to note that the real name of the Crown Prince of Dubai is Sheikh Hamdan bin, Mohammed. He is the second son of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai.

The fake Facebook post received over 300 likes and some people even commented and showed interest in the job postings. However, one should be cautious and sceptical about such offers.

The Facebook account claiming to be Sheikh Hamdan is certainly fake and should not be trusted. The Crown Prince of Dubai’s royal Facebook account goes by a different name, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and is verified with a blue badge.

While the real account has almost 3 million followers and regularly updates followers about the prince’s activities, the fake account has a very small follower count of around 6,400. In addition, the real account does not post job offers.
