iPhones Can Now Perfectly Duplicate Your Voice in 15 Minutes
Apple released the iOS 17 Beta 2 update for developers and beta testers a while ago and now it is available to the general public as well. The latest version features a revised update screen that provides more information about the beta software and includes several key features announced at WWDC.
But one of the coolest features of iOS 17 was not mentioned in the announcements. Thanks to a new feature called Personal Voice, iPhones running iOS 17 can now create a very convincing copy of your voice.
How it works is very simple. Go to your phone’s accessibility settings and search for “Personal Voice”. Here you can tap “Create Personal Voice” and the phone will prompt you to say a few phrases out loud for 15 minutes. The data is then processed overnight and a synthesized version of your voice is created.
Check out the video below to see it in action.
It’s true that the synthetic voice sounds a bit robotic, but it still sounds pretty close to reality.
We’re all already familiar with iOS 17’s other features, such as the ability to share files with another iPhone simply by touching the two devices. It is powered by AirDrop and uses WiFi Direct technology.
We’ll also have contact banners, improved autocorrect, sleep mode, MicroLocation settings, new widget options for Apple Music, and more.
